Shannon Bickford

My current work explores transparent objects, reflective surfaces, shadows and images from nature; often reflecting metaphors for perception.  I use watercolor as my primary medium, enhanced by colored pencil, acrylics, and postage stamps. In recent years, I've begun to use digital media to illustrate short stories I've written and in conjunction with custom cut designs.

Shannon received degrees in Biology, Special Major (combining Art and Biology), and Psychology from California State University at Fresno.  She has exhibited throughout California. She has taught art classes for the State Center Community College District, CSUF, and UOP—Life Long Learning.  Her biological illustrations have been published in laboratory manuals and entomological and botanical texts.  She currently teaches watercolor and mixed media classes locally.
